Tire replacement -- what makes me whole?
A large truck in front of me lost its drive shaft, which put a golf-ball size hole in the sidewall of one of my tires on my Lexus. My tires are Bridgestone Turanza LS-V, which are not made anymore. They have less than 50% wear. Should the insurance offer to replace the set or a pair? (If they offer just one, I will complain to the AAA, BBB, Insurance Commissioner, my own insurance company, the guy down the street, and the evening news.)
Insurance will typically only pay for what is damaged. Replacement of any tires that were not damaged in the incident is not their obligation.
Everything they cover is in the policy that you signed.
